THE LOVER

This is a natural extension from the Growing Up series, evoking my personal confrontation from childhood to maturity with the idea of the eternal quest for love, particulary with its prescribed rituals and inherent coneits, the archetypal lover and the underlying reality behind the facade. Here one may enter the male cosmos of self-absorption, pursuit of power and pleasure, fantasy and inadequacy, whereby women are reduced to objects, either a demure wife or a prize for a successful hunt. Conversely, the women's manipulative love or the perception of love becomes a fleeting commodity in a never-ending tarantella between men and women.
